CHAPTER 17
Sanctuary at Ben Nevis. March 1433.
It was a fresh spring morning and the dew from the previous night had almost dissipated. The sky was relatively clear; allowing the sun to illuminate most of the landscape. Few clouds hovered along the summit. Almost too clear for them to be spotted even at a high place, the dragons of the clan remained on guard of their surroundings, and avoided flying like they normal would have done before the Massacre. The need to do so, however, was not in short supplies.

It was somewhat windy around the sides of the treacherous rocky formations of the mountains. Spring had not come any earlier and the snow still remained, settled atop the highest peaks of the known to humans as The Mackenzie Mountains. Chilly as it was, he walked decisively through the rocky terrain, on all fours as it was usual for him after a long period of flying. The further he moved north, the colder it got as he approached the now visible Mount Nirvana.
